The struggles of my day yesterday. :-(

What an interesting day yesterday.

I transfered money from my canadian account to one of my american accounts. In the process they seem to have lost my money. A few hundred, can be frustrating, however, this amount was much much larger. I spent over 2.5 hours in the bank waiting, disucssing, making calls, waiting more, and discussing with tellers, assistant managers, managers, custodians, candy container refillers, and of course making conversation with other customers too. I might have well just moved in for a while. After hours in the bank, they still have not found my money.

I teach personal power and remaining calm in this situation with all the tools I have in my mind/body arsenal was a challenge even for me. It was extremely difficult for me to understand someone's incompetance. It was hard for me to accept the answer, "we don't know, Mr. Savard, we cannot locate the funds in our system." I have the paper trail, so they know that they have it somewhere, they just don't know where. I found myself clenching my teeth.

Today is July 4th, all the banks are closed. My money is still missing in action. I am sure that it will turn up in the next couple of days, as long as it did not appear in someone's account, it would be a extra wonderful holiday weekend for the recipient. So, I realize that there is nothing i could do. So I decide that I will leave the fate of my money in the bank's hands.

I then prepared myself to go and do my show. Minutes before I am about to leave to go down to the LA Comedy Club at Trader Vic's, my 2 year old daughter was jumping on the bed and cracked her head on the headboard. Ugh. Poor little thing was crying so hard, and she wasn't cut thank god, but she was really hurt. Her forehead today has such a big goose egg on it, and the worst was the contact right between the eyes. She is beginning to get black eyes today, it is a shame that there is nothing I can do for her. It makes me feel helpless. She will survive. Will my money survive it's trip through cyberspace? Only time will tell.

Happy 4th of July to all of you.

What was I thinking?

Last night we had a great show. We had some GREAT volunteers, Jack, Kat, Walter and many others.

Walter was hypnotized and apparently he works for Travelocity on Location. He actually sells tickets to my show. I should have hypnotized him and gave him suggestions to sell more tickets! What was I thinking??? Walter, come back!

Then there was Jack. Jack was this guy onstage that was absolutely in love with Jacky. OMG, it was so funny! As soon as Jacky walked out in one of her costumes, I could not get Jack's attention. He was ALL over her. Her not only undressed her with his eyes, but dressed her back up, then undressed her again and again. Jack was ALL about Jacky! He thought that she was "naughty". It's only her costumes that are naughty, she is actually really sweet. Jack would disagree.

Opening Night Review

Opening night is behind us. The show went well. We had a great turnout and the audience had fun.

Positives:

1. The venue allows for a great vibe. The laughter is contagious and the energy is fantastic.

2. The front row is literally next to the stage. Very intimate.

3. The view of the strip from the showroom is unbelievable.

4. The format of the show allows for my personality and the volunteers personalities to come out.

Negatives:

1. The stage is too small. Solution: We are going to build a bigger stage.

2. Lighting has insufficient coverage. Solution: We are adjusting the lighting rack today.

3. Sound had some feedback issues. Solution: EQ the room today during sound check.

4. The showroom is intimate, and I am just not nearly as good looking up close as I am from further away. No solution. :-(

Opening Night

Ok. I really dont know how I find time to write my blog, but I am. I am told that people read these and they like being connected to the inside workings of a show, so here it is.

Ty Buckley is currently loading more gear into Planet Hollywood Hotel. I will be meeting them down at the venue at noon. Kamela Brewer my executie assistant, is setting the last minute guest list for the show tonight. Vendors are selling tickets. Holly McIlroy is getting ready to do a test makeup run on my onstage assistant, Jacky Pagone. I will be going to the venue to do sound checks, last minute lighting changes, last minute run throughs with the cues for Jacky. We will also try and build chemistry between us onstage, but that will also come with time.

I am quite sure we will have some technical issues as well as some snags tonight. It will take a few days to iron out the kinks. I am looking forward to the show, and it will be a fun adventure for all of us.

I will be tied up the rest of the day, so you probably won't hear from me until sometime after my first show.

2 more days until opening!

Linda Blair played a scene in the Exorcist that has me feeling the same sensations. My head is spinning around in circles! LOL.

I just taught hypnotherapy class all day, from 9am to 7pm. Whew. It sure makes it easier to teach when you have such great students. Great students and all, I am still quite exhausted. I communicated with Kamela, my executive assistant throughout the day. She has been a lifesaver for me. She has been out shopping all day for new costuming for the show.

Why new costuming you ask? Well it is ALL Jacky Pagone's fault. Well maybe her parent's fault. Jacky is our new on stage assistant/dancer that we just hired. She is perfect for the job, BUT she is SOOOOO tiny, that none of our costumes fit her! Ok, one did. So, it still is a blessing in disguise because we really needed to get a fresh look for the show, so I am happy about the changes of costumes. I am just being dramatic. :-0

Tix4Tonight begin selling our tickets officially tomorrow. That's exciting! Most of my hypnotherapy students will be attending the show on opening week as well. I am surprisingly handling all the stress and workload well. I am a little tired, but a little self-hypnosis should take care of that. :-)

Have a great night!
